Images from the Black Box I

This project, an open work inaugurated here as a first series, is developed around the concept of network of signifiers, as theorized by Lacan after Freud’s discoveries. The network of signifiers is constituted by elements linked by means of metonymic displacements into sequences, which at some points are crosscut by metaphoric values. The photographs in this series, organized as diptychs, explores these concepts investigated like a force between the images and in the relationships established by their contiguous positions. The series is a flow that unfolds as a succession of signifiers of free association, presenting movements (displacement/metonym, condensation/metaphor) that also constitute the images in our dreams — images that no longer have a time index or a space reference.
